Makeup Tutorial – Steven Spielberg I am not!!!
LIGHTS….CAMERA….ACTION!!!
Being someone who is not really savvy with most forms of modern technology (less is more I say and if it doesn’t satisfy a need why bother!), I realised that, while I intend to use the mind-altering delights of the online world to help spread the word of Odara Mineral Beauty and retail my amazing products, I really should get to grips with it all and update my not-so-smart application skills.
While I notice that vlogging (that’s blogging with videos if you are unfamiliar….a modern word I DO know!) has become THE thing to promote cosmetics and get the right attention these days, I gracefully bit the over-the-hill bullet and created a YouTube account just for you guys so you can learn more about the Odara Mineral Beauty brand, each individual product and what to do with it as well as different looks and get real with me as the Company grows.
I see lots of makeup tutorials by lovely young Vloggers, who really have a knack for digital creations as well as those of the powder and paint kind. So…I decided…if they can do it, so can I! How difficult can it be?!! Very…as you will no doubt see from my first video attempt. Well I have a smart phone…what could go wrong?!! EVERYTHING! After much frustration, fiddling about, editing, playing around, finding programmes to help reduce the losing of plot I finally managed to produce something watch worthy, with music and captions and everything! However, it was kinda slim-lined. But…despite that, the point has gotten across and it’s received some views. Maybe some chuckles too!
My second epiphany deduced that I needed a movie maker of some sort. So, on another crusade I went journeying into cyber space. I eventually found my chalice and, once installed and toured, I managed to successfully create and upload a second video, not so slim-lined but still done by my smart phone….with music and captions and everything.
My third epiphany concluded that I should probably upgrade further and invest in some snazzy digital camera thingies, maybe set up a wee studio-type area with some flood lighting etc (maybe that’s too extreme) and do a proper jolly good job of it! What do you think? At least produce something that’s a bit more appealing to you all while still addressing the matter in hand and getting the point across successfully.
Having said all that, here are some links to my attempts…..
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them. At least have some giggles. I don’t think I’m quite destined for Hollyworld yet but there is still hope.
